Today's my first evening of Base Plant at SIM.  A little physically challenged as I had been stuck in the traffic from Exit 14 along AYE to SIM that took me 30 mins to reach here.

Good to know that I've reached my base for the first evening.  Brought the essentials; power chargers, mouse; the only lacking equipment with me is the 2 HDDs that I lug along with my production station.

Well, a good time catch up on my blog now I've cleared some other matters.

The day had been really mentally disturbing especially after this 2nd hiccup in the payroll in Mainstream.  Hope there will be some satisfactory answers by tomorrow.  I certainly hope this will be the last time round such a thing is happening.

 Just 45 more minutes and my angel will be done with her lessons.  The first of the 3 continuous nights has just swung into prime time.

A rather quiet day had passed for me; spent the entire day at home sorting out my database.  No doubt some shops are already opened on the 2nd day of Lunar New Year, there aren't much places I can visit considering that dearie had already gone to Genting early this morning with her family and will only be back a few days later. 

Guess this few days will be rather quiet without her presence around me.

Mainstream will resume tomorrow.  Despite the recent trip being long-roaded, it still is something interesting being the first road trip that I had, except being the driver myself.  Staying another day will be awesome but that means I would not be able to see dearie and her family before they leave for Genting.  Pity they're leaving a little later else we all might have a chance to meet up in Malaysia.

I had fallen into a deep slumber after lunch though it was near 2pm - it could be the accumulated lack of slumber on the trip, and the short wink prior to seeing her family off before sunrise this morning that had triggered the need for a nap.  Anyhow, it was one good rest which I have not taken for a long time.

Let me try to have an exceptionally early slumber tonight to see if I can wake up at the usual, before sunrise hours to start my day.  It has been awhile since I did a morning run!

This trip has been good. Met the main body of Rimba who lives in a field house right off the city area of Terengganu.

The entire journey from Kuala Lumpur was a whopping 7 hours before we are all settled down. Dinner was sumptous at Reuben's landlord's place where they had invited the Rimba group to join in.

Learnt that Reuben has been here for a couple of years and live fully on sponsorship in their research. This is something unusual which not many Singaporean guys will venture into doing. Considering the type of lifestyle one would have to live with, not many will be keen to take the plunge.

We had a walk around town, that was filled with the festive mood after dinner with the younger group.  Street shows, decorations and fireworks could be seen around the heart of Chinatown which was within less than 10 minutes' walk from where we will be putting up.

Finally settled down in a room, courtesy of the landlord, for the night at 110hrs.

Set off at 9am after an Indian delicacy breakfast near Casa Kiara II.  Night rest had been good after putting up at Jackie's abode, where I could see the street lights of Genting from afar.

It was a drizzling while we set off.

Passing through several villages, we finally reached Kuala Terengganu.   This was the only developed town amongst the spread of villages that were scattered throughout the state, where we had also passed through before hitting this place.

Reuben brought us to the fieldhouse where he resides while working, the nearby resort / park, which was about 10mins' drive from his fieldhouse.  In his fieldhouse, all sorts of equipment could be seen; mountain trekking stuffs, camera traps, GPSes and things that are used for one to get by the primitive living of the place.

I had stayed awake throughout the trip except for a few occasions where I had snoozed off from the fatigue of the long road trip but we finally made it to settle down.

The last evening in Singapore before setting off for an off the city trip.  This time it will be across the border.

Mentally a little tired from all the running done today hence will be turning in early tonight.

The afternoon was greeted with spell of shower, so hence, the plan for the run had been scrapped.  We had a small, yet warm, dinner at dearie's place with Fuwafuwa along with us.

Time to get some rest and an early set off tomorrow for re-org.

Good morning Sunday, and happy anniversary to both of us!

Time flies; we've been together for 3 years already.  While dearie's having her lessons, it's a good time for me to finalise today's plans so that we can have a good time together later.

An early morning with the sun gently shining through the foilage of the nearby vegetation, random noises of those passing by vehicles made this Sunday feel really peaceful.  The morning drive to dearie's school was accompanied by the gentle and soft voice of the late King of Pop, MJ, singing his song, "Childhood" (if I didn't get it wrong).

Weather looks pretty on our side today.  Fortunately one of us didn't forget this special day - a sign that we are all too busy with our daily schedule.  For me, it's usually packed on the weekend when assignments sometimes come so quickly.

Let's see what I can come up with to make our day something to be well-spent together.

Suspected another telemarketer who chose a certain time to call.  Not answered.

The effects of the siren still ring in my ear as I awoken.  It was that disturbing but I still had to go back based on this week's schedule.  Thankfully, the upcoming 2 weekends will be mine!

Gulped down the rest of the mix and moving out.

One of the disturbing evenings by far that I had.

While I had done up the tidying of work to my best, the Queen had not seemed all satisfied even after I've updated the King.  So there goes, the "endless siren" which I thought was all unnecessary.  That kept me stuck till 7pm before I could make my way off.

The effects were like a mental blaze and I thought that it'll be better that I focus on things that I can do to make myself happier.  So this evening, some coke and vodka to unwind over since dearie will having a dinner with her colleagues.

Hopefully, after a few doses of the mix, it'll work as the "killswitch" for this unnecessary torment.

Back to mainstream.

The routine of work continues, but for a new year, this will be something fresh.  In my current post as a bridge between the boss and the staff, it's something different as compared to what I did in the past.

Some consolation is that they have pretty liked me so far despite the stressful (and sometimes, unnecessary) moments I have to undertake.  I guess this is all part and parcel of life when you're hired.  At least work here is appreciated to a certain extent, while having footed as a "first grade citizen" after the flag had been successfully pegged at the end of 2011.

The driving engine looks like it's in place now and I can continue to use to drive the bigger ship.

Another rest day for many.

I'm still "stuck" at my desk continuing the work.  Dearie had also been revising her work, but as she doesn't have the kind of endurance, hence, some short naps between are taken before she continues each phrase of her revisions.

Most shops are open today, but we didn't venture around too much as there isn't anything we need at the moment, or see anything that catches our eyes.

I guess this will be another indoor day for us all, but it's also a good time to have some easy time.

This is my first post for the new year.  Things have been stored in my mental cloud before putting them down in writing now.

I had slept pretty late after some work and for the sake of recuperating, I had slept 7 hours in total without any interruption.  That must be a sign of substantial mental fatigue after those marathon hours of my end-2011 work, which is, the real thing.

It's a Sunday being the first public holiday for the year, so everyone gets to enjoy another day off tomorrow.  This is also a good time for me to catch some rest, while toggling between the rest of the work I have to finish up.
