A readup on the history of full marathon records totall intruged me:

Looking at the records of a full marathon run, the speed of those runners done were double of mine. It's definitely a good reference for my training ahead.

Today's run was pretty much on form for the afternoon despite being a little sunny. Most parts were filled with gale.
Despite the gale, the journey to the U-turn point was considerably smooth.
Fuel started to run out when I was at the 1:48h timeline, hence I had to either slow down or switch to a walkathon to finish the run.
Fortunately, I made it despite a deficit in the fuel level.

Though being a windy season, the climate has heated up hence the challenge against running in a hot environment has begun.
I have been out of action for the last couple of weeks in view of union matters as well as nursing from a cold spell. It's simply irritating when that spell hits, rendering one in a state of depleted energy.
At least I managed to complete the run for this time. It might just be that lazy mood as a result of too much carbohydrate loading the night before at a family event.
A better run awaits me during the week.

It was a cold start; seemed like I was still halfway in slumber though I've physically awoken and gotten ready for that run; I needed an early start as I missed a schedules long distance run yesterday.
There were intervals of brisk walking as muscles felt lethargic and simply won't warm up, so much so that I could not do even half of the desired long run, so I had to turn back to prematurely end the morning run.

The speed training was considerable satisafactory, since I has attempted a faster pace. Same circular track; the biggest barrier is to break the mental dread of running in circles as one would during IPPT.
Welcome the rain at my 7th round as it was a good cooling wash while I was at the peak of running. It made the remaining run much more refreshing before I headed for a final dash.

Accompanying run with angel and her cousin this evening; considering the tropical climate we live in, it's better to run off the sun, especially for the ladies.
Before the run, we spotted some labour workers catching fishes at the riverbank, and indeed, they had catches. The rod was purely made out of natural materials such as plant stems and willow roots - one of the most economical ways to fish. Kevin would be amazed to see this.
I kept the run duration at 40mins, so u-turn point for anyone will be at 20mins after they have reached that on their stopwatch. My speed was faster today, but certainly not fantastic enough. The ladies commented that I have a slim build even with my top on, but that to me, was simply illusionistic.
Another better run awaits me next weekend, or even during the week.

A good run was done today, hitting 'paradise' (aka No Man's Land) which was far and beyond the woods and vegetation. U-turn point had hit the bridge that will bring me to Yishun if I venture further down.
The greatest challenge of today's run was the gale that formed resistance, coming from all directions. Being a Saturday, the 'industrial' roads are filled with trucks, hence tossing up sand as they drive by.
It certainly takes a few more of such runs to get accustomed to the endurance needed, hence I have to keep going so I can hit beyond my 21km barrier.

A refreshing experience to run in the middle-rated showers without thunderstorms.
The route had became a little like a stream when I hit the upslope path beyond the 6km mark. Being undeveloped, this place had virtually no street lighting so I have to keep the regime in the lighted hours if I wanted to take this route. So far, it had been the most conducive route as there's minimal traffic crossings and pedestrian interruptions.
Civilisation appeared far when I was making the route back after the 7km mark, however, it was over in a blink of an eye as the weather proved best for a good, long distance run.
It started a liytle chilly, but after a warmup duration, it gets enjoyable as the only discomfort I had to deal with, was the splatter of raindrops on my countenance. It was soon over, and looking forward to the next!

Done my first run this evening on the huaraches which has been owned for a couple of weeks.
The feel of the run was totally different as one can feel the ground considering the sole thickness is only 6mm. Minimal power loss; except for the shoes which require tweaking to rid of those blisters and abrasions.
The run took me less than an hour and after the run, I still feel pretty energised after the run.
Hope the blisters get well soon so I can be on the track again with these huaraches.

Finally one of those times I have done a considerable run; at least half of my maximum distance so far.
Weather had been cooling and it's certainly encouraging to see many people doing runs at the nearby park.
Dearie took the bicycle to accompany me as I did my run. Tea was the wrong type of liquid intake as it causes alot of wind and makes breathing a little disruptive. At least I had made this run to jumpstart the schedule.
More runs to come.

Some fuelling done up before the run as I foresee that I will be doing a full scale this time.
No doubt this has been done, fuel ran out at the 18th km hence I have to cut my pace and double along with short sprints and slow runs.
I made it at a faster pace this time.

I wasn't quite well-prepared 'apparelly' but anyhow, I still made it for my run. 10km done under an hour. It could be faster if I had worn my socks!
A good 3 weeks had just passed so quickly and it's time to pile up my Runkeeper with running records. It has been 2 months since I did a full half marathon run which I had participated officially 11 years ago. The timing back then as compared to now is still intact.
I had better be adequately prepared for my training next week.

Today's pace seemed a little faster and a stranger who was running greeted me when I ran past him; hopefully he didn't mistaken me for someone else he had seen regularly or me being of the opposite gender.
Anyhow, he could simply just be friendly.
The fuel I had today could not bring me further; and in view of my upcoming IPPT, I decided to keep the distance not to overpowering. Furthermore, with the loss of light at this hour, my usual path might be a little unsafe as the last 500m before my U-turn point are usually massively littered with broken twigs, branches and "natural debris" along with unkempt vegetation along the pavements.
I made it while keeping the pace constant; the only discomfort I had was the soaked socks which rubbed against my toes over an extended period of time. It's time I get a decent pair of durable socks, or those toe-shoes that can wicker off perspiration of the feet without the need of wearing socks.
It's a Thursday and the 7km point did not have the any signs of regular fishermen who would make themselves at home with some comfort items while waiting for their bait. Could it be the Malay supernatural folklore that kept them away from such places on this particular day of the week? No point thinking about such creeps.

Run was completed in 72 minutes, but once again, the GPS on my iPhone had failed to function and capture the exact distance made.
11.35km was an estimation as the plotting manually will be all too tedious.
It was one of the slowest-paced off my usual track at East Coast Park where the routes are continuous and non-interruptive by any junctions of other sort of roads.
I will need to do some proper planning for this alternative road near my neighbourhood.

I'm taking a new route around my neighbourhood as I had to get back early and have some fuel loaded before doing my run.
Today's route is a little challenging as there are some construction of the road kerbs / re-routing of roads hence the terrain was a little uneven.
Familiarisation is needed.

Just came across some useful articles in this forum under
dailymile.com which talks about what we should eat and avoid before a long distance run.
That is just what I need to keep the fuel going as I'm now on the 20th header milestone. Not forgetting lots of hydration.

Well, almost time for me get back to battlebox. Just want to deposit the last wee bit of thoughts here.
With 5 hours of rest, it might just seem insufficient for many but so far I'm still keeping up well with it. Just a little spell of soul-sleep mode in the early hours.
Tonight will be the continuation of my fitness regime. Let's see how far I can descend that body fat percentage from 15%.

I'm back on the long-awaited journey.
This time, I've taken a different route instead of the usual, 5.84km mundane run around the reservoir treading on granite-tar, and tar-granite route.
It was a little difficult to plot out my route initially, but I had decided to use an exploration or what many calls, the journalistic approach to finding my route.
Took the straight route to hit Kaki Bukit and found that I've already done 5+km by the time I finish winding around those area; not too conducive to run; hence I decided to head towards Comfort Driving Centre, make a U-turn and then take the route that links Eunos to Bedok Town. The most challenging curve past Opera Estate had been one of the most challenging terrains that I had done for quite sometime.
Cleared that, hit left towards Bedok Reservoir and ran along the 700+m route that brought me back home.
All in all, it was a good run except for the inaccuracy on my Runkeeper.

Done a 5 hour eye-shut before commencing my Recovery Run after a 1 week spell of nasal slime, endless sneezing and mega chill.
Decided to take a modified route entry into Bedok Reservoir. Today seemed to pretty populated at the Reservoir as schools are having some running events around the park. Multiple groups of students took their run past me and saw a few teachers with timers at certain spots around the park. Guess it could be some assessment that they have to undergo.
Apart from the surge of phelgm and mucus discharge, all was well. Since this is meant as a conditioning phase after my recovery, I decided not to hit too far to go past my maximum at 18km so far. With my metabolism, it seemed a better choice to get the right foods in that will last me for my long distance runs.
Took a little turn to find out what's at the other end of park connector that goes behind Aquarius and unfortunately, it does not go further as it was the end of the park connector. The only way go link up to other parks was to take the route opposite where I had covered, but for today, I shan't go there yet. A friendly dog greeted me while I was exiting the park connector which linked me back to the Entrance Run road that was about 900m from the carpark to the traffic light just beside the water facility.
Did a good 10km within nominal timing in my books.

A trail on the new route near dearie's place had been quite a good experience; certainly encouraging to see so many people running at the parks, close to the green lushery built just beside a wide canal (fortunately well maintained hence there was no stench).
I had went past Kampung Buangkok and exited past an old zinc-plated warehouse just along Gerald Drive. Hitting right, I made my way towards CTE where the park connector ended and decided to do a U-turn from there. Sun by this hour had started to pick up and I am already running toward the sunrays. As the minutes went by, it got more blazing hot and I decided to take an early exit so that I do not have to cross the road to be disrupted by the traffic.
It was at the 3+km distance had my Runkeeper failed to track the distance correctly. Oh well, I'll finish my run away.
The total distance did today should be not less than 12km in less than an hour. Seems like an improvement.
